Bemidji, Minnesota—February 2009. LearningChange is proud to showcase the new website for The Headwaters School of Music & the Arts in Bemidji, Minnesota. The Headwaters School of Music & the Arts seeks to build meaningful relationships with the community through cultural events. This nonprofit organization provides private lessons, group classes and features special concerts and events which are open to the public.
 
The goals of the website are to feature the school's private lessons and its special Suzuki Institute program, as well as  to tell the stories of the school’s patrons.
 
"We are so excited to have worked with LearningChange to develop a website that is alive and colorful," says Janet Brademen, Executive Director of the school. "Many of our families have complimented us on the site.  When people call to request information regarding the opportunities we offer in art and music it is so nice to be able to say ' have you seen our website?'.  I am able to direct them to our site and they can see who our instructors are and the other opportunities we offer to people in north central Minnesota."
 
LearningChange partner, Samantha Meemken, and illustrator, Nicolas Jackson, worked with Janet Brademen to find ways to capture the stories of folks who take part in the school’s offerings. Every page of the site features snippets of experiences from students, and the illustrations created by Nicholas give the site a feeling of friendliness and great energy.
 
"The school provides so much more than music lessons and concerts," says Samantha Meemken. "Students build relationships, develop character, develop confidence, and learn the importance of discipline in order to achieve goals. These are important lifelong lessons that can be learned in fun and creative ways. We set  out to build a site that captures these experiences."
 
Join The Headwaters School of Music & the Arts for a free family event, "Night at the Movies," February 10, 2009 at 7:30 PM. The Headwaters Youth Orchestra will join the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra at the Bemidji High School Auditorium.
